Financial Assistance Program Summary
At Lancaster General Health our mission is to advance the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We strive to provide quality healthcare to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. To that end, Lancaster General Health’s Financial Assistance Program was designed to help families or individuals without insurance or with insufficient insurance coverage who are unable to pay for their care. Our goal is to make this part of the process easier so you can focus on more important things like taking care of the health of you and your family.
How the Program Works
Patients who want to apply for our Financial Assistance Program should speak with one of our Financial Counselors at the hospital or selected outpatient facilities or call our Customer Service Department to discuss their eligibility. Our Financial Counselors can guide you through the process to apply for any number of Federal, state, local or other assistance options including our Financial Assistance Program here at Lancaster General Health.
You will need to complete and sign the application. You will also be asked to supply specific documentation to identify your income and assets. Then our Financial Administrator team will review your application and make a determination. This process can take up to several weeks depending on a variety of factors.
Once a determination is made you will receive a letter in the mail. You can also call into our Customer Service line to inquiry about the status of your application.

LGHealth Financial Assistance Program and The Affordable Care Act
Now with the Affordable Care Act, you have the opportunity to enroll in an insurance plan through the government website marketplace. We strongly recommend that you look into this federally mandated program the government has made available to all US citizens. The next opportunity for enrollment begins on November 15, 2014.
This fall, in preparation for the enrollment period, LGH will have representatives available who can give you the information needed to direct you to the website. There are exemptions from this program. If you apply and qualify for an exemption we will need specific documentation for our records.
