Financial Assistance Program Summary
At Lancaster General Health our mission is to advance the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We strive to provide quality healthcare to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. To that end, Lancaster General Health’s Financial Assistance Program was designed to help families or individuals without insurance or with insufficient insurance coverage who are unable to pay for their care. Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible so you can focus on more important things like taking care of the health of you and your family.
How the Program Works
Patients who want to discuss their options should speak with one of our representatives. We can guide you through the process to apply for any number of Federal, state, local or other assistance options including our Financial Assistance Program here at Lancaster General Health. This is how the process works:
You will need to complete and sign the application.
You will also be asked to supply specific documentation to identify your income and assets.
Your application will be reviewed to see if you qualify.
A determination will be made. This process can take up to thirty days or more depending on a variety of factors.
Once a determination is made you will receive a letter in the mail.
You can also call the Financial Counselors to inquire about the status of your application.

LGHealth Financial Assistance Program and The Affordable Care Act
Now with the Affordable Care Act, you have the opportunity to enroll in an insurance plan through the government website marketplace. We strongly recommend that you look into this federally mandated program the government has made available to all US citizens. The next opportunity for enrollment begins on November 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017.
This fall, in preparation for the enrollment period, LGH will have representatives available who can give you the information needed to direct you to the website. There are exemptions from this program. If you apply and qualify for an exemption we will need specific documentation for our records.
Failure to enroll in this Affordable Care Act insurance program could impact the level of assistance provided through the LGH Financial Assistance Program going forward. Please go to the link entitled Health Insurance Marketplace Assistance for further information.
